The increasing number of electronic system components and more extensive electrical equipment makes vehicle repair ever more complicated. This means that servicing of the complex electrical system in a vehicle involves far more than just changing a defective bulb or replacing a blown fuse. The electronic components not only communicate with one another, they sometimes cannot function without one another. So the failure of just one sensor may even bring the entire electrical system to a standstill. The future of mobility lies in new electrical systems

More and more modern vehicles are being equipped with new assistance and convenience systems. Such innovative technology does however require far more power than can be provided by today's vehicle electrical systems. The 12 V systems used at present soon reach their limits. Whereas these provide a maximum of 3 kilowatts (kW), the diverse electrical equipment requires a constant total supply of around 800 to 1500 W – and even twice that at peak times. This places an enormous strain on the electrical system and the associated components such as the alternator or battery. One possible answer would be to switch to a new 48 V electrical system with a connected load of up to 12 kW – and our workshop experts will be fully prepared for this development when it happens.
